Due to storm damage, sections of York River State Park are temporarily closed. Join Joanne and Ellie as they hike new (to us) sections of York River State Park. The new hike will cover 10 miles of trails with a stop halfway for water and a snack. Highlights include river views and access to a different fossil beach than the one we visited last year. After the hike we will return to the picnic area for lunch.
We will leave the Bottoms Bridge park-n-ride (exit 205 off I-64) at 8:00 a.m. for those who want to carpool; we will leave the York River State Park Visitor’s Center at 9:00 a.m. to begin the hike. Contact Ellie or Joanne if you need details about the hike or the park-n-ride location. (Ellie: 370-2603, Joanne: jberdall@hotmail.com) There is a $4.00 per car weekend parking fee at York River State Park. ( 5526 Riverview Road, Williamsburg, VA)
