ODATC Outdoor Membership Meeting -- September 20th at Byrd Park
The Old Dominion Appalachian Trail Club (ODATC) is ready to safely get back in business. Instead of our regular meeting on the second Tuesday, we will be having an outdoor membership meeting at 3:30 PM on Sunday, September 20th at Byrd Park. We will meet at the Carillon Shelter located near Barker’s Field in the southeastern end of the park. The club is planning to provide bottled water, but members are encouraged to bring a chair, snacks and drinks or even your own picnic dinner if you would to eat after the event.
We have planned the following activities:
3:30 - 4:00 – Social time
4:00 – 4:30 – Club News
4:30 – 5:00 –A Presentation on the Pump House by the Friends of the Pump House
5:00 – 6:30 - Free time to socialize, walk around, or have your own picnic.
Feel free to arrive earlier and visit the Maymont Nature Center. Or, if you prefer, do a loop hike on the North Branch and Buttermilk Trail.
There are lots of things to do to make a big day of it. Also, please don’t forget your mask, and, of course, remember to practice safe social distancing.
As said earlier, there will be no regular membership meeting on the second Tuesday of September at the Science Museum of Virginia. This is our alternative event due to the COVID-19 crisis. We hope to see everyone on the 20th.
