2012 The Greatest Girl Scout Hike

The Girl Scouts of America (GSUSA) will be celebrating their 100th birthday in 2012 by hiking the Appalachian Trail.  Between March 12 and October 31st, 2012, Girl Scout troops will select a section of the Appalachian Trail to hike; their goal is to complete the entire trail "in bits and pieces" by the end of October, 2012.

    I plan on dragging our small troop of 4 girls ( ages 13-14) from Rockfish Gap to the Paul Wolf Shelter for a weekend in June to participate in this great event! If any other troops want to collaborate please let me know.

    Girl Scouts do more than sell cookies! Girl Scouts are hiking the entire AT in Bits and Pieces. Virginia Skyline Council is hosting a Girl Scout Spring Break hike on the Tidewater ATC section of trail and the Old Dominion miles. GS Alumnae, moms and daughters, GS leaders and girls join us for Spring Break all of for some of the nights April 9, 10, 11 and 12. Contact Barbara FMI
