Pocahontas State Park Hike - Chesterfield (C/3)
Jeff Samuels (796-7949). Celebrate the first day of Winter with a 7 mile hike on a mix of unpaved forest roads and wide hiking trails in the central section of the park. The trail mix includes sections of Ground Pine Path, Fendley Station, Old Mill Bicycle, Beaver Lake, Spillway, and Powhatan trails. Bring water and perhaps a light snack. Lunch is on your own after the hike. Restrooms are at the beginning and 4 miles into the hike. The park entrance is on Beach Road (Rt. 655) 4 miles west of Rt. 10 (Ironbridge Rd.). There is a nominal parking fee without a park pass. There is no need to call unless you have questions. Meet in the big parking lot near the pool/picnic area at 8:50AM.
