Powhatan State Park (NEW) Hike (B/3)
Jeff Samuels (796-7949 or jefflsamuels@yahoo.com). Located along 2.5 miles of the southern bank of the James River in northern Powhatan County, Powhatan State Park will become Virginia's 36th State Park when it opens in early July. Its 1564 acres consists of about 320 acres of open fields. The remaining acres consist of forests of mixed hardwood stands to loblolly pine plantations. The park has not yet opened, so details of this proposed hike (on a combination of multi-use and hiking trails) have not been finalized and will not be available until closer to the hike date. There is a nominal parking fee without a park pass. Contact Jeff for details.
