Contact Art Ritter (o2behiking@yahoo.com). We'll hike about 11 miles on the AT (which is part of the club name, after all), starting at Simmons Gap and ending at the Doyle River Overlook. Eyeballing it, it looks like about 1,500+ feet elevation gain and some loss. We will need to shuttle cars. I doubt that there will be a lot of color left, but one never knows. We will also visit the Pinefield Hut. Maybe that will make a good lunch spot, but we shall see. Ivy Creek at roughly the halfway point should be a good spot to fill water bottles, if needed. Staging point: Oilville Park and Ride by 7:20, leave 7:30. Let me know if you are coming because I am setting a limit of 15, and will have to organize drivers depending on how many show up.
