SORRY EVERYBODY DUE TO RAIN AND WET CONDITIONS THE HIKING TRAILS ARE CLOSED TODAY (TUESDAY) WITH NO ASSUANCES THAT THEY WILL REOPEN TOMORROW NEED TO CANCEL!!!!!!
Bill Tennant (Willyten10@aol.com or 282-0590) Let’s take a walk in the woods by the river, enjoy a lunch together and maybe even visit an 1850’s farmstead. We’ll be hiking about 5 miles on the Fluvanna Heritage Trail which is off Route 53 just west of Palmira, southeast of Charlottesville. It’s about an hour west of Richmond. Be sure to pack water for the trail and a lunch which we will have midway through the hike. We’ll carpool from the Oilville Park and Ride which is on the Southwest Corner of Interstate 64 and Oilville Road, Exit #167. Carpools leave Oilville at 9 so try to be a few minutes early to allow time to sign in and for the groups. In you want to drive directly, meet us at 10 at the trailhead. To get to the trail head, take Interstate 64 west to Route 15, then south on 15 to Route 53, then west about ½ mile to the entrance to the park. It is on the right and is marked Trailhead Drive and the sign says Pleasant Grove Dog Park.
