We will hike the various trails around York River State Park. The various loops, and “out and back” trails, allow for hikers to hike as much or as little as they want. Hike agenda calls for about 11 miles, but by eliminating out and backs the hike can be shortened to 6. In addition, there is a Visitor Center that is open, as well as a picnic area. After the hike we will return to Richmond for some socializing at Legend’s.
There is a $3-$5 entrance fee per car for the park. In addition, a $10 gas contribution is requested. For those in the Chester/Chesterfield area, we will be carpooling from the Barnes & Noble by the Commonwealth Theatre on Hull Street at 7:00 am. For others, please gather at the Park and Ride on Parham off I-64. Contact Mark Dimmick(804-400-3108 or mmdimmick@hotmail.com) if you are interested in going and to let him know which place you plan to meet for the carpool.
