May 8 (Tuesday) ODATC General Meeting  – Pot Luck Dinner (D/1)

David Olli (864-1461, dolli@smv.org)  Members and non-member alike are welcome to attend the third of five 2018 general meetings in the first floor Discovery Room of the Science Museum of Virginia.  Keeping with club tradition the May meeting is once again Pot Luck- Bring Your Own Dish Night.   Feel free to bring any kind of dish - main, side, dessert - and a dinner appetite.  I’ll have the Museum set up long tables for a chow line and rounds to eat at.  President David Grimes officially kicks things off at 7:00 pm but feel free to arrive by 6 pm so folks can start digging in by 6:30 pm.

Our guest presenter is Ben Watson, Staff Scientist for The James River Association presenting “Climate Change Ecology and the Increasing Importance of Conserving Virginia's Appalachians”.  The Appalachians have long been considered a hotspot for biodiversity, but they're also an increasingly vital refuge and corridor for climate change-induced migration.  Ben will discuss the present and future ecology, and learn about the importance of protecting Virginia's natural spaces.
