The January Freezeree will take place January 27-28, 2018, to celebrate January birthdays. Note the date change due to the extreme cold expected on the original dates. We don't want anyone to really freeze! This is an exclusive backpacking trip only for people who meet at least one of the following requirements: You have a birthday in January; You know someone who has a birthday in January; OR...you have a birthday sometime in 2018. If you do not meet at least one of these requirements, call me and we'll talk.
We will park at Rockfish Gap and hike south on the AT for five miles to the Paul Wolfe shelter. We will spend the night in the shelter ...or you can tent...and then hike back out the next morning. We will have breakfast at Weasie's in Waynesboro after we finish the hike Sunday morning. This is a great opportunity to check out your winter gear and have fun with others who are willing to get out and embrace the cold.
