Hike 9.8 miles in the park's central section on a newly configured combination of trails: Big Poplar, Muddy Buddy, Parallel, Road To Nowhere, Beaver Lake, Ground Pine Path, and Powhatan, to name a few. A sampling of stops include the new yurts, CCC Camp, and grave sites. Nice mix of natural beauty and park history. Pack a lunch, water, snack. Restrooms (heated) only at beginning, port-a-potty at 5 miles. Park entrance is on Beach Road (Rt. 655) 4 miles west of Rt. 10 (Ironbridge Rd). Parking fee without park pass. Meet in the big parking lot near the pool/picnic area at 8:50 AM.
