This 7 mile loop with 1600 feet elevation gain, begins at Big Run Overlook and travels through the upper end of Big Run Valley before swinging back up hill on the Madison Road fire road to join the AT. This is the perfect hike for someone who wants to try a Shenandoah National Park hike for the first time as well as those looking for some fresh autumn air and changing leaves. Come join the fun.
